Wirtz Memorial, Andersonville, GA.

It is the only memorial in the US to a convicted war criminal.

Wirtz was unfairly singled out for prosecution for the deplorable conditions at the Confederate prison.

"Discharging his duty with
such humanity as the harsh
circumstances of the times,
and the policy of the foe
permitted, Captain Wirz
became at last the victim of a
misdirected popular clamor."

The Confederate Powder Works Chimney in Augusta, GA

"The Confederate Powder Works was the only large scale structure that was commissioned and paid for by the Confederate States national government. The facility consisted of 26 buildings that stretched 2 miles along the canal in Augusta and provided black powder for Southern soldiers throughout the War for Southern Independence. The chimney is the only remaining portion of the facility."
